Bumble bees are important pollinators of wild flowering plants and agricultural crops, as they are able to fly in cooler temperatures and lower light levels than many other bees. New England Aster is an important late season food source for pollinators, blooming through October.
 
Creating pollinator gardens with plants that are native to our own area is a rewarding and important way each of us can help to ensure a habitable planet for future generations.
